Challenging Role as CSSD Manager at Newcastle Private Hospital
About Us
Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park.
The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit.
A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.
Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
Job Responsibilities
* Attend the operational management of the current CSSD Department within the Perioperative Services area.
* Act as an advocate for our Quality Management System and promote a safe work environment.
* Support your team to achieve a streamlined operational management.
* Meet relevant standards and best practices consistent with the CSSD specialty area.
Requirements
* Minimum 4 – 5 years' experience working in a senior role within a CSSD environment.
* Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation held from an accredited provider.
* Hold Australian Work Rights.
* Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR.
* Demonstrated ability to show leadership and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a team environment.
* Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS Office and various databases.
* An interest in promoting best practice patient care.
* A focus on professional development.
