The role involves extensive collaboration with the engineering teams, production, customer, procurement, and external suppliers to meet technical, schedule, and cost targets.Key responsibilities include:Apply comprehensive engineering knowledge, techniques, and governance standards to develop functional engineering solutions that meet a complex array of cross-functional interactions and requirements.Engage with design partners and/or suppliers to design and develop solutions, troubleshoot issues, and produce technical reports and presentations.Work directly with internal stakeholders and customers to verify requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios, use cases and other design considerations.Develop plans for resolution of technical issues as they emerge, liaising closely with internal and external stakeholders and striving for on-time, qualitative and safe outputs for the delivery.Perform functional design, qualification, and compliance with safety, regulatory, and legislative standards exercising engineering judgement and demonstrating a pragmatic approach.Develop the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution.Perform and review engineering calculations and analysis to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance.Co-ordinate, manage and leverage a wide stakeholder base to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible engineering decisions.Pursue professional development to achieve Chartered Professional status in a relevant engineering body.About YOUHave a Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Aerospace or other similar degree qualified and satisfying the requirements for membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia.Displays resilience, adaptability and self-motivation in response to radical changes.Possess a can-do attitude with a solution focused approach.Excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise issues/ tasks as they arise.Be comfortable working in a complex environment.Be flexible to support regular meetings into the evening with colleagues located in the UK and Europe.Have familiarity with system integration, systems engineering.
