We are seeking dedicated individuals to support our young people in achieving their driver's license.
Job Description
The Volunteer Driver Mentor will accompany program participants during driving lessons, assist in logging hours and reinforce safe driving practices. Salvation Army vehicles are provided.
This role goes beyond licensing, fostering a sense of community, belonging, improved mental health and social responsibility among both young people and mentors.
Mandatory Requirements
* Complete The Salvation Army's volunteer registration and training modules.
* Criminal History Check (Police Check) and Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card) are required.
* A valid driver's license and good driving history are necessary.
* Two references are mandatory for all roles working with minors.
Desired Requirements
* Driving, mentoring, training or casework experience is highly regarded.
Time Commitment
* A minimum 2-hour weekly commitment for at least 3 months.
