This role involves supporting individuals with complex health needs and promoting their independence and quality of life.If you are passionate about providing care to those with chronic health conditions, intellectual disabilities, and other complex needs, we would love to hear from you.Role Overview:As a Female Disability Support Worker at Sirv, your role will involve providing tailored support to individuals living with a range of disabilities, including those with chronic health issues, dialysis needs, intellectual disabilities, and complex physical care requirements. You will assist clients in managing their health, personal care, and daily activities in a respectful and empowering environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide assistance with chronic health conditions, including ongoing monitoring and support.Assist clients with dialysis treatments and care coordination, ensuring safety and comfort.Support manual handling needs, ensuring safe lifting and transferring techniques.Provide pressure area care to prevent and manage pressure sores, including regular repositioning and skin assessments.Support individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting independence and active engagement in daily activities.Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.Support clients with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and monitoring dietary needs.Administer medication as required and assist with health-related tasks as directed by healthcare professionals.Encourage and facilitate participation in social, recreational, and community activities.Maintain accurate records and reports on client progress, health status, and care needs.Essential Experience & Skills:Experience in supporting individuals with chronic health conditions and complex medical needs.Proven ability in manual handling and safe lifting techniques.Knowledge of pressure area care and prevention strategies for pressure sores.Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and person-centered care.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to caregiving.Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy laws.Working with Childrens checkRelevant qualifications in disability support, healthcare, or a related field (Cert III or Cert IV in Disability Support is highly desirable).First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).Why Work with Sirv?Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Supportive and inclusive team environment.Flexible hours to fit your lifestyle.The opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with complex care needs.
