About the Role
Ahi Thai Cuisine seeks a skilled and passionate Curry Chef to join our kitchen team. As a Curry Chef, you will play a key role in preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Thai Curries that meet our restaurant's high standards of quality and taste.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Head Chef with seasonal menu creation, ensuring dishes remain authentic to the direction of the establishment while managing food costs.
* Preparing curries such as Green Curry, Red Curry, Yellow Curry, Beef Massaman Curry, and Ahi Special Duck Curry.
* Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and workplace health and safety legislation and regulations.
* Assisting the Head Chef with all culinary requirements, food preparation, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Freezing and preserving foods to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
* To assist in allocating duties and rosters to permanent and casual kitchen staff.
* Maintaining the highest standard of service, quality, and presentation of Curries in conjunction with the Head Chef.
* Cooking proteins and vegetarian options in curries, ensuring each ingredient is tender and infused with the curry's flavors.
* Adjusting spice levels based on customer preferences.
* Garnishing curries with fresh herbs, lime wedges, or chili for a final touch.
* Coordinating with other chefs to ensure curries pair well with side dishes.
Skills & Experience Required
* Certificate IV in a relevant field is required.
* The candidate must have at least 1 year's experience in a busy restaurant.
* Friendly, positive, and approachable attitude.
* To be energetic and motivated.
* Able to work under pressure.
