Head of Department - General Medicine (515768)The Royal Hobart Hospital and Department of General Medicine is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Head of Department – General Medicine position.We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Staff Specialist passionate about practicing holistic general medicine, leading and mentoring medical staff, and contributing to quality improvement in a growing general medicine department.Who are we? Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre.As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.General medicine is the largest inpatient department in the hospital with excellent subspecialty support and opportunities for clinicians to be involved in research, clinical redesign, and quality improvement.Responsibilities: Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine.Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care.Contribute to the Department of General Medicine's afterhours and weekend roster.Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff.Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring.Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities.Support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services.Details of Appointment Fixed term, part-time day work (with on-call), working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 3 years.Minimum Requirements: Holds specialist registration.Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway.Is a registered Medical Practitioner who is an IMG with a recognised overseas specialist qualification.How to Apply?
