About The RoleThe Construction Maintenance Instructor operates a maintenance workshop performing building, assembly and repairing functions to support prison operations. The position provides on-the-job instruction, accredited training and supervision to prisoners who work in this area. The position holds a supervisory role over other staff in this area.
EligibilityTo be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia. To be eligible for appointment you are required to have:
a Construction Industry White Card ANDa Certificate III in a construction trade e.g. Brick and Block Laying, Carpentry and Joinery AND/ORCertificate III in Building and Construction AND/ORCertificate III in Building Maintenance AND/ORCertificate III in Appliance Service.Benefits And Opportunities Five (5) weeks of Annual Leave with the opportunity to purchase additional leave.Thirteen (13) weeks Long Service Leave after 7 years for full-time service.Secure work environment.Application process How To ApplyPlease ensure you review the attached Job Description Form (JDF) for further information about the requirements of the position.
