A/Prof Kishore Raj Kumar leads the Translational Neurogenomics Group with the Genomics and Inherited Disease Program. He has a growing team with 2 PhD students, as well as 2 scientists, across Garvan and clinical sites (Concord Repatriation General Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital). The group works on genomics and clinical translational for neurogenetic disorders including inherited forms of dystonia, Parkinson's disease, ataxia (loss of coordination), and hereditary spastic paraplegia (progress stiffness and weakness of the legs). A/Prof Kumar leads large genomic studies including the Ainsworth 4 Dystonia Genetic Research Mission and the MRRF-funded Monogenic Parkinson's Disease Australia (MonoPDAus) Initiative and has many national and international collaborations. Our goal is to improve the care of people with neurological disorders using genomics. THE OPPORTUNITY The Translational Neurogenomics Group Project Manager will assist with the development and implementation of Garvan's Translational Neurogenomics Group. The successful applicant will provide management and oversight to support the delivery of the program, including working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Salary: $120,000 + 11.5% super + salary packaging (Prorated $60,000) Employment Type: 4 year term contract. 19 hours per week. The key responsibilities include: Documenting and facilitating project plans. Track progress of key milestones. Ensure appropriate communication with all project stakeholders. Initiate and facilitate project meetings. Track the financial status of projects. Assist with appropriate IRB. Assist with future financial needs of projects.
