They specialise in the operational technology and management of extensive urban and interurban transport networks, offering innovative solutions and consulting services to enhance existing systems.Part of a consortium, and working in partnership with NSW Government, they have recently been awarded a city-shaping, mega metro rail project to be delivered under a Public Private Partnership model.
The Role Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will be pivotal in developing and executing procurement strategies, managing subcontractor relationships, and ensuring governance compliance.
You will play a strategic and operational role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring critical goods and services essential to the success of this major infrastructure project.
Responsibilities Develop & Execute Procurement Strategy - Design and implement procurement strategies aligned with project objectives, governance frameworks, and compliance standards.Manage Procurement Processes - Oversee supplier selection, contract negotiation, cost management, and risk mitigation to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement.Lead Subcontractor Management - Establish and maintain supplier relationships, oversee contract variations and claims, and ensure adherence to contract terms.Ensure Financial & Risk Compliance - Conduct cost benchmarking, financial analysis, and risk assessments to optimise procurement performance.Enhance Procurement Operations - Streamline procurement workflows, improve efficiency, and ensure reporting accuracy across procurement and subcontract management.Negotiate High-Value Contracts - Secure favourable terms for pricing, service-level agreements, and performance guarantees with key suppliers and subcontractors.Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders - Work closely with legal, finance, and engineering teams to align procurement activities with project milestones and risk management.Ensure Public & Private Sector Compliance - Navigate regulatory requirements, including PPP frameworks, public procurement laws, and probity guidelines.
Requirements 7+ years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial management within major infrastructure projects (rail, transport, energy, construction).Proven PPP & Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of Public-Private Partnerships, contract law, and public procurement regulations.Experience in managing procurement processes from RFPs and bid evaluations to final contract negotiations.Skilled in cost structuring, lifecycle costing, value-for-money assessments, and financial risk analysis.Ability to engage with government and private sector partners to drive procurement efficiency.Track record of navigating probity, regulatory compliance, and supply chain risk mitigation.
