About the Role
The Mine Planning Engineer will design and schedule medium-term operations at the Carmichael Mine in central Queensland.
This involves creating mining and dumping locations, access and haul road designs, as well as ensuring effective communication with short-term planning engineers to implement plans effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance of the 24-month Short Range Forecast (SRF)
* Adapting medium-term mine plans for optimal safe working conditions within the mining operation
* Reviewing methodologies for overburden removal and handling, and making recommendations for optimum methods
* Designing and optimising dumping and ramping systems for maximum dump space and minimum costs
* Reviewing and optimising medium-term mine design and schedules, providing options for cost-effective resource utilisation
* Liaising with internal stakeholders to optimize resources and meet mine plan requirements
* Identifying enablers and risks associated with medium-term mine plans and schedules
