Your role will be to provide quality patient care and customer service in the area of specialty, being Colorectal Support.
You will provide clinical leadership and consultancy and deliver excellence in clinical standards and quality of care through the development of practice standards.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is required to implement best practice and evidence-based improvements to clinical practice and demonstrate positive leadership and modeling.
In this position, you will support data integrity for the surgical database and clinical trials and coordinate the care and follow-up of patients with colorectal cancer.
Maintaining Advanced Clinical Skills and Knowledge
Provide counselling/education/advice to patients and significant others in the pre and post-operative period.
Develop education resources and arrange specialized education as required.
Ensure patients, their families, and carers have access to information about relevant hospital and community services.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate patient follow-up including ongoing review and investigations.
* Provide advanced patient care problem-solving and guidance within the area of colorectal surgery.
* Promote and facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate relevant clinical standards and policies using an evidence-based approach.
Requirements and Qualifications
You must currently be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and hold a post-registration qualification in Cancer Care or Colorectal surgical management.
You will have extensive knowledge and post-registration experience, with the ability to demonstrate expert knowledge and advanced clinical skills along with the ability to plan, develop, and implement educational programs for patients and caregivers.

To succeed in this position, you will have the ability to integrate research and best practice outcomes into standards of practice, hold high-level communication and interpersonal skills, along with well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities, advanced negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
