What began as a group of local families coming together to provide education and opportunity to their children has today developed into a thriving business supporting more than 1,500 participants across seven Local Government areas.
Description
As a Support Worker you will work closely with our residents to ensure that they are supported to live as independently as possible. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting with the design, implementation and delivery of person centred plans which will enable residents to achieve their goals
Providing active support to individuals and groups within the home environment and in the community as required
Providing safe transport to and from day programs, work and social outings as required.
Acting a s a role model in terms of communication, dress and interactions
Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of documentation
Skills And Experiences
Previous experience in a Support Work position or a qualification in Disability (or working towards). (Desirable)
Ability to act as a role model and guide co-workers to work consistently and efficiently to meet Resident needs.
Experience, or knowledge of, developing, implementing and monitoring Person Centered Plans.
Experience in providing participant personal care, or a willingness to do so.
Experience with, or knowledge of, behaviour support plans and positive behavior support strategies.
Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
Sound computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft applications such as word, excel, outlook.
Current Drivers Licence & comprehensively insured vehicle.
Current First Aid Certificate.
Must be able to work split shifts
