The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.About the DivisionThe Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) guides the Departments' digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the Department including Victorian government schools. A minimum requirement of 3 days a week in the DE office is required, plus a valid Working with Children Check (E).About the RoleReporting to the Assurance Manager, the Senior Test Analyst role will be part of the Quality Assurance team, responsible for System Integration Testing. This role works closely with the Child Link and Early Childhood Education Digital Services team and IT technical specialists both within the Department and external vendors. Additionally, subject matter experts from varied services will be key stakeholders for which this role will need to develop effective relationships.The Kindergarten Attendance solution comprises multiple components that require individual testing and end-to-end testing. The Senior Test Analyst will need to work closely with technical and business Subject Matter Experts to gain a detailed understanding of the business requirements, solution design and architecture and data models, including all attributes, reference data and associated metadata.They will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project principles and practices with a tailored Agile development approach to fit large, complex, business-critical projects with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictabilityAs the Senior Test Analyst, you will be required to: * Build Integration and Functional test cases from business and technical requirements along with design & interface documents * Development of automated/manual test cases for System Integration Testing * Ability to identify data requirements (data mining and/or building test data) * Execution of test cases and reporting of progress * Defect capturing, prioritising, following up resolution and retesting defects * Preparation of testing artefacts, including test plans and test summary reports. * Engagement and collaboration with stakeholders, both internally and externally. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Senior Test Analyst are outlined in the "Role Requirements and Capabilities" section.AttributesThe candidate will need to demonstrate expertise and experience in the following: * 8+ years' experience in testing, with the ability to work independently, but also within a team setting. * Experience in building and executing test cases from complex business requirements & technical interface design & mapping documentation * Demonstrated experience in the development of automated test suites * Data Migration & Integration Project experience - high level of experience writing and executing complex database SQL queries, with the ability to find innovative testing solutions to complex data problems/projects. * Demonstrated proficiency with data migration (ETL) testing * Experience in providing input into, and analysis of, user stories * Ensure acceptance criteria are defined and testable * Demonstrated ability to execute System Integration test scripts that identify and confirm resolution of defects prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) * The ability to create test artefacts, including test plans and test summary reports, or provide input into testing artefacts. * Confluence, Jira and Xray test plugin experience * Experience with data-driven testing * Teamwork, collaboration and ability to work in both Agile & waterfall environments * Attention to detail and outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skillsDesirable Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Bachelor's degree in information technology, or similar.Desirable:Accreditation Agile CertificationTesting CertificationFurther InformationFor more details regarding this position please see attached position description for the capabilities to address in application.The department values diversity and inclusion in all forms - gender, religion, ethnicity, LGBTIQ+, disability and neurodiversity.
