About the Role:
Anglicare Southern Queensland is dedicated to providing essential support and therapeutic interventions for young people and their carers in foster and kinship care arrangements. Our Intensive Foster and Kinship Care and High Plus programs are designed to assist those facing stress, potential breakdowns, or complexities in caring for young individuals.
As a Practitioner within our Intensive Team, you will play a crucial role in delivering tailored interventions to meet the unique needs of each young person and enhance the capacity of their carer families. Your responsibilities will include providing education, support, and resources to address attachment issues, trauma effects, and related behaviours, ensuring the stability and well-being of placements.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position (working 76 hours per/fortnight) based at our Maroochydore location, servicing the Sunshine Coast Region.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting carer education, training, and ongoing support to enhance their caregiving abilities.
2. Assessing complex needs of children and developing individualized care plans, including in-home support strategies.
3. Utilizing your knowledge of child protection legislation (Children Protection Act) to ensure the safety and well-being of young individuals.
4. Facilitating support groups and delivering training sessions to empower carers and build community connections.
5. Operating within child-centred frameworks while collaborating within a family-focused network.
6. Completing comprehensive documentation accurately and within specified guidelines.
Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements
7. Degree in Health, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology or similar (this is an essential requirement of the role)
8. National Police Check
9. Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
10. Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
11. Current Queensland Drivers Licence
12. Ability and willingness to travel within the service region
About You:
13. Previous experience in working with carers, including training, recruitment, and onboarding.
14. Demonstrated ability to assess complex needs of children and implement effective care plans.
15. Familiarity with child protection laws and regulations, particularly the Children Protection Act.
16. Proven experience in facilitating training sessions and support groups.
17. Ability to manage complex documentation efficiently and within deadlines.
18. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working environments.
