Carmichael UK are seeking a competent Section Engineer for the Devonport Docks project in Plymouth on a long-term basis.
Due to the high security level of the site, which is a military naval base, additional security checks must be completed.
BPSS-level security clearance is required. This process can take up to 8 weeks and only candidates with EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports, who have been UK residents for the last 5 years, will be considered for this role.
Job Responsibilities:
* Manage the preparation of as-built drawings.
* Establish effective systems to record work completed and update the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
* Manage systems to track the progress of work against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
* Assist in recording and testing workmanship and materials such as drainage, concrete, piling, and brickwork.
* Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are resolved and technical queries are answered.
* Responsible for setting out works within allowable tolerances.
* Regularly check setting out points and benchmarks to ensure accurate construction.
* Manage the preparation of sketches for distribution on site and maintain clear communication channels.
* Ensure workforce understands setting out information suitable for the type of work being carried out.
Requirements:
* Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent (BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech).
* Experience in a similar role.
* Completion of Higher Apprenticeship or working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE, or other professional bodies.
* SSSTS and CSCS White PQP/AQP certifications.
