Job Title: Clinical Educator
Purpose: The purpose of this role is to enhance the development of the allied health workforce. The role will deliver high quality evidence-based Allied Health clinical education services, including specific training, for allied health professionals within Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (MHAODS) in addition to expanding the capacity of the allied health workforce to provide clinical placements. The Clinical Educator will facilitate a training, mentoring and supervision strategy for allied health in Community and Acute, and Forensic and Secure Services to guide skill development, core competency attainment and maintenance from pre-entry and new graduates through to advanced allied health professionals.
About You:
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
High level knowledge of Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work clinical service delivery in MHAODS, including demonstrated awareness of the challenges faced by the multidisciplinary workforce. Ability to develop, deliver and evaluate clinical educational programs with a focus on evidence-based models relative to mental health and alcohol and other drug service delivery. High level knowledge of adult learning principles, quality improvement and research methodologies. Effective communication and negotiation skills with a wide range of stakeholders including students, clinicians, managers and university staff. Mandatory Requirements:
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in health professional education would be well regarded. Benefits:
