At Phillip Riley we are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in VIC.You will be responsible for the understanding, prediction, and calculation of the stability, strength, and rigidity of built structures. Structures can include buildings, bridges, in-ground structures, footings, frameworks, and space frames.Main tasks include:Analyse the statical properties of all types of structures.Test the behaviour and durability of materials used in their construction and designs.Supervise the construction of all types of structures.Study architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control.Monitor changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs.Analyse structural systems for both static and dynamic loads.Design structures to ensure they do not collapse, bend, twist, or vibrate in undesirable ways.Assess present and future travel flow patterns taking into account population increase and needs change.Design the physical aspects of transportation systems such as highways, railroads, urban transit, air transportation, logistical supply systems, and their terminals.Key Skills:Problem solvingAttention to detailCommunication skillsComputer literacyTeamworkStructural engineeringAnalytic reasoningCreativityLeadershipProject managementCollaboration2+ years experience required.Salary: $87,500 - $107,500 + Superannuation.Job Type: Full-time.Work Location: In person.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
