This position will work alongside our substantive Level 4 Clinical Specialist (Paediatrics) who is on reduced hours post maternity leave.The Clinical Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist will be responsible for clinical governance and delivering expert clinical care to paediatric patients across Special Care Nursery, Paediatric Wards and Outpatient clinics and services. This position will work closely within the multidisciplinary allied health, medicine and nursing teams and provide consultation on novel or complex physiotherapy presentations. The position will support the development of clinical skill and competency within the physiotherapy and wider paediatric team.This position will carry a clinical caseload in paediatrics whilst facilitating education and training and support the wider department and facility quality and safety initiatives. There will be opportunity to develop strong professional relationships and work collaboratively with other hospitals, universities and research /training entities to lead and support enhancement in research, education and clinical practice.What You'll Be DoingThis position is responsible for specialist physiotherapy clinical service provision in the area of Paediatric Physiotherapy. This includes service development and evaluation, advanced reasoning and clinical practice skills in the management of clients of a novel or complex nature, as well as providing consultation and education across the SWSLHD in the area of specialisation.
