Position Overview
As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. Working with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives in a nurturing and safe environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
* Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
* Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
* Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
* Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
* Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.
* Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar. You will also need an Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher), a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), and a Current First Aid & CPR certificate. The ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts is required.
