Apply now Job no: 501940Work type: PermanentLocation: South BrisbaneCategories: Allied Health About the role Mater Dietetics and Food Services team have an exciting opportunity for a Dietetic Assistant to join the team on a part-time basis working 27 hours per week. Mater Dietetics and Food Services department provides comprehensive, high quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic services to all hospitals in Mater Group. Our dietetic assistants are a valued part of the team and complement the role of the dietitians in the department. Working as a part of a close knit team, you will be required to provide clinical support to the Dietitians across all Mater Hospitals. Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): Delivering clinical nutrition and dietetic support services to patients under the direction of more senior staff within Nutrition and Dietetics. Interpret data from relevant databases into meaningful information to generate appropriate feed production. Be directly responsible for the daily production, storage and delivery of formula milk in line with hospital procedures. Receive, store, track and dispense expressed breast milk, pasteurised donor human milk and human milk for donation as per hospital procedures. Conduct malnutrition screening and related assessment processes. Manage relevant clinical documentation. This position will be required to cover the full range of shifts of length of 6 hours within the service hours of operation, (8:00am to 7:30pm, 7 days a week). About you To be successful in this role you will require: Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently. Flexibility to manage competing demands. High level literacy, numeracy and computer skills. Previous experience working in a hospital formula preparation room. Previous experience conducting malnutrition screening with hospital inpatients. Certificate IV, Allied Health Assistance (Nutrition & Dietetic Assistance), including competency in formula preparation is highly regarded.
