This is your chance to join a small, dedicated team where you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and legally sound approval and administration of energy resource licenses, directly contributing to the secure management of the State's valuable energy resources.As a Senior Licensing Officer, you will provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders, including industry representatives and other State government departments, on matters related to licensing, regulatory compliance, policy, and procedures. Your role will involve working collaboratively with regulatory, compliance, scientific, and technical professionals within the Department for Energy and Mining (DEM) to support informed decision-making and provide expert recommendations to the Minister (or Delegate) under relevant energy resources legislation.Key Responsibilities: Licensing and Regulatory Support: Provide expert advice on licensing and regulatory compliance matters, ensuring decisions are legally sound and align with current legislation and policy.Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal stakeholders and industry representatives, as well as other government departments, to ensure compliance with energy resource regulations.Decision-Making Support: Collaborate with regulatory, compliance, and technical teams to make expert recommendations to the Minister or Delegate on energy resource licensing and approvals.Systems Development and Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development, review, and enhancement of information and licence management systems to ensure they remain effective and efficient.Data Management: Develop, maintain, and improve complex statistical datasets and databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy to support informed decision-making.Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, improve workflows, and enhance overall efficiency within the licensing function.Ideal Candidate: Experience and Expertise: Demonstrated experience in licensing, regulatory compliance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of energy resources legislation and policy.Analytical and Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage complex data sets and provide accurate recommendations, while maintaining a keen eye for detail in all aspects of your work.Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including government departments, industry, and the public.Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment, demonstrating urgency and initiative when required.Technical Proficiency: Proficient in the use of database management systems and information management tools, with the ability to adapt to new technologies as needed.Qualifications:An appropriate qualification or experience in tenement management within the energy resources industries (such as petroleum, geothermal, gas storage, natural hydrogen, and renewable energy resources) is desirable.If you are passionate about energy resources and eager to contribute to a sustainable future, we encourage you to apply!Remuneration:ASO5, $85,790 - $95,413 per annumFull-time role, working 37.5 hours per weekSpecial Conditions:This is a temporary role for up to 12-months.Application Instructions:Applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae and written application of no more than two pages, demonstrating their suitability for the role by addressing the key selection criteria above.
