The Position
We’re currently recruiting a highly experienced strategic and commercially savvy leader with a strong civil construction background to spearhead the civil scopes of work on HV infrastructure on renewable energy projects.
This person will lead our highly capable and skilled team of project delivery professionals as we transition to net zero.
This is a permanent position and can be located in any major centre (Queensland). This is a Professional & Managerial Grade Four level position with salaries starting from $208,758 + 12.75% super.
About you
First and foremost, you have an applied strong Civil knowledge of bulk earth works, FRP civil works, Overhead Lines civil foundations, Brownfield and Greenfield substation civil works, while understanding compliance, practices and knowledge of the regulatory, legislative and standards which apply. You have a proven ability in the management and process improvement of civil methodologies project management and control systems.
Ideally, you have experience working for or on behalf of a government organisation where you have learnt to navigate the complexities of intricate, multi-layered processes whilst ensuring civil works are delivered safely, on time.
You have a solid relationship and experience working in conjunction with union bodies ensuring employment standards are always considered highest priority.
Equally as important, you have a strong and HSEQ focus and leadership capability and commitment for delivery, and achieving strong results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction. You also have a proven ability to exercise good judgement accompanied by a high level of financial, budgetary, pricing and risk assessment skills.
Some of your accountabilities include:
14. Motivate and lead a multi-disciplinary team towards the achievement of the organisation's strategic and commercial goals in the generation, renewables and substations, including developing and mentor performance of assigned employees through performance review, maintaining position descriptions and approved training plans to establish Yurika as a market leader.
15. Develop and implement a Safe System of Work for the civil discipline, ensuring competency and safety culture across the civil program of works.
16. Develop and implement a Quality Assurance system aligned to Australian Standards, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and project specifications.
17. Provide subject matter expert advice as part of the tender and estimate process to ensure commercial sustainability of the civil function across the portfolio.
18. Support project delivery teams in supplier and subcontractor engagement by contributing to market tenders, selection processes and ongoing management of suppliers and subcontract partners.
19. Accountable for ensuring that Yurika is aligned to current civil market trends Accountable for the Civil program of works across a national footprint by successfully coordinating and planning civil resources and equipment to complete scope of works.
20. Develop and implement compliance, quality and HSE processes and systems to ensure the integration of renewable connections to grids are in-line with changes to legislation and client requirements.
21. Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships to enable safe and effective works delivery. Collaborates effectively managing information and confidentiality requirements across Energy Queensland Limited in accordance with applicable ring-fencing parameters.
22. Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace.
23. Compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices.
Essentials
24. Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) and/or experience relevant to the role
25. 10 years of civil construction and/or energy infrastructure experience
26. Project Management qualifications and/or experience
