About the Position
The Community Development Manager (50D) position is responsible for effectively managing the diverse range of service areas within the unit, and includes staff supervision, project development, establishment of business plans and delivery of projects and events. The position is integral to ensuring a strong foundation of cultural competency across the City.
About You
We are looking for an experienced professional with a community development mindset, with the ability to lead, motivate and engage a dedicated team. You have a strong focus on cultural safety and a passion for creating positive change at a local or community level, alongside or led by the community.
You will possess the following:
* Substantial management experience in a multi-disciplinary community development/services role, including demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and oversee a diverse multidisciplinary team and direct service delivery.
* Proven capacity to develop and maintain respectful relationships with First Nations communities and established personal networks with local First Nations communities.
* Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including conflict resolution and, the ability to engage and communicate with a wide range of people and groups.
Pursuant to Section 50d of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the occupant of this position must be of Aboriginal descent.
Salary: $128,545 - $137,086 per annum plus superannuation, depending on relevant qualifications and experience.
