Group and Team: City Infrastructure Group, Road Maintenance & Construction TeamLocation: Clearys GatesEmployment status: Permanent Full-timeClassification: Municipal Employee Level 5Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2021Salary range: $69,156 -$70,667 per annum + 13% superannuation.Above award wages and employer superannuation at 13%.Enjoy City of Hobart employee benefits.Secure a great civil construction and maintenance role with the local council.About The RoleThis position is responsible for supporting the Team Leader in overseeing a team of Labourers, Plant Operators, Truck Drivers and Contractors in the undertaking of asphalt paving, civil construction and maintenance activities.Role Accountabilities Include Supporting The Team Leader ToRespond to queries and questions from the general public professionally and courteously.Undertake day-to-day onsite work (often working independently), ensuring that allocated work is delivered efficiently, effectively and to the expected quality standards.Complete timesheets and safety and site documents accurately and provide them to the Coordinator each day, together with an update on progress and issues within the timeframe agreed with the Coordinator.At all times adhere to all site safety guidelines and protocols and be risk aware, demonstrating a commitment to health and safety of yourself, other employees and the general public.Communicate effectively with employees, contractors, and the general public.About YouYou will have experience in civil construction, including supervising employees in high-risk environments, operating asphalt pavers, and managing the safe use of small plant and other construction equipment.
With a positive attitude and strong communication skills, you will be able to provide clear instructions and build rapport with team members.
