About the opportunity
The Functional Specialist provides expertise in the areas of consulting, implementation of ongoing projects, maintenance and support for relevant SAP solution functional areas to ensure an optimum product lifecycle of application services that support business processes. They provide application management including implementing new requirements, maintenance and support and continuous improvement. This role also delivers strategic functional guidance of the IT systems and processes that support most key processes within SA Power Networks.
This Functional Specialist will have superior technical skills and will act as a Subject Matter Expert and Thought Leader in the Record to Report area. This stream covers finance processes including general accounting, revenue accounting, planning & management accounting, treasury, Capital project accounting, Taxes, Property and real estate.
Key role objectives
* Provides input on the impact of new projects prioritised for implementation.
* Implements, configures and supports the relevant SAP solution applications ensuring build quality and subsequent application availability, performance, reliability, maintainability, serviceability and capacity are provided in line with agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs.
* Presents suggestions with options to prioritise improvement initiatives that provide value to the organisation.
* Provides application support resolving all incidents and requests in line with SLAs and undertaking problem solving and identifying improvements in liaison with the end user.
* Contributes to the continuous improvement of the application support function by maintaining awareness of technology developments and making appropriate recommendations to enhance application services.
* Continuously improve business users' knowledge through communication, feedback & training.
* Work with our business stakeholders to understand their business processes and pain points.
* Build relationships, so that you are a trusted partner.
* SAPN ERP is on S4 HANA and Version 2023 FP1, so knowledge of the opportunities which are presented with this foundation.
Essential Role Requirements
* A degree qualification in an IT related discipline and/or equivalent skills and knowledge gained through experience.
* Extensive experience working with SAP software, particularly in a functional analyst role. Experience with other relevant modules is essential.
* Relevant SAP certifications and other industry certifications are highly desirable.
* Ability to work collaboratively with other functional specialists to deliver a quality offering to our business stakeholders.
