Key highlights:$160k to $180k base + super + STI, LTI and other benefitsBased in Sydney, 4 days per week in the officeHands on Infrastructure Lead, manage a small team whilst being the escalation point for your team and vendor liaison.Rotating additionally paid on call support requiredThe Infrastructure Lead is a pivotal role within the Technology Operations team, responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of critical infrastructure systems.This role demands an expert-level understanding of IT infrastructure, monitoring, observability, and automation, with a strong focus on ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our environment.This position requires a hands-on lead who can navigate complex technical challenges while also guiding a team to deliver high-quality infrastructure services that meet the demands of a fast-paced, 24/7 global operation.Key Responsibilities:Lead the architecture, deployment, and ongoing management of Technology infrastructure.Implement and manage advanced monitoring and observability tools to provide real-time insights.Conduct regular reviews of monitoring data to identify trends, optimize system performance, and recommend improvements.Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues, leading troubleshooting efforts.Perform root cause analysis for high-impact incidents and implement long-term fixes.Lead the development and deployment of automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management.Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential to improve infrastructure services and recommending their adoption where appropriate.Provide mentorship and guidance to the infrastructure team.Work closely with IT Leadership, Product Teams, and Service Desk teams.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and third-party providers to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure services.Participate in and oversee the on-call support rotation, providing 24x7 coverage for critical infrastructure issues.Qualifications and Skills:Extensive experience in managing and leading IT infrastructure ideally in Retail or similar fast-paced changing environments.Experience in a similar role supporting environments with many locations is highly desirable, the organization typically opens 15-30 extra locations a year.Experience across both AWS and Azure is highly desirable.Knowledge of Retail Hardware (POS systems, KDS, BOH platforms), Networking technologies (Cisco Meraki, etc.), and corporate IT systems (Microsoft Office 365, Zscaler, Zoom) highly desirable.Advanced skills in monitoring and observability tools such as Zabbix, with a proven ability to design and implement effective monitoring strategies - highly desirable.Expertise in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).Strong leadership skills with experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.Proven ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering their growth and ensuring the team’s success.Experience managing infrastructure projects.Willingness to participate in and oversee a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24x7 support.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a similar role, with significant experience in a leadership position.Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, ITIL) are highly desirable.Why should you apply?Competitive salarySTI, LTI and additional benefitsUp to 5 weeks annual leaveCareer growth – Australia and internationallyPaid parental leaveCompany vouchers
