This role involves designing and implementing programs that engage students in hands-on learning experiences, foster a love for the natural environment, and promote physical, emotional, and social growth. The Outdoor Education Coordinator will oversee a range of activities, including camps, excursions, and adventure-based learning, aligning these with the College’s Catholic values and educational goals.Key Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and lead outdoor education programs for students across various year levels.Promote student safety and wellbeing during all outdoor activities, ensuring adherence to risk management and safety protocols.Collaborate with teachers to integrate outdoor learning with the broader curriculum.Inspire students to develop teamwork, resilience, leadership, and an appreciation of the environment.Engage with parents, staff, and the community to communicate the benefits and goals of the outdoor education program.Join us in shaping students’ character and confidence through outdoor learning at MacKillop Catholic College, where every experience is an opportunity to grow and thrive.Criteria for Appointment:Commitment to the Mission, Vision and ethos of a Catholic School;A willingness to work in a developing College in a fast-growing area of Australia;Has a proven ability to work as part of a collaborative team;Has an excellent teaching record;Qualifications in Outdoor Education, Physical Education, or a related field;Highly developed organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills;Holds or is able to gain registration from the NT Teachers Registration Board and an Ochre Card (working with Children).Catholic Education Northern Territory requires all of its employees to abide by its policy documentation around safeguarding children and Sharer’s of the Vision. This position requires the successful completion of a 6-month probation process.
