Where you will be working John Hunter Children's Hospital provides a variety of services including complex medical, surgical, major trauma and neonatal care services for Northern NSW. Being one of three children's hospitals in the state, they will see nearly 25,000 children and young people present to the emergency department, have 9,000 admitted to hospital and perform over 100,000 occasions of service through outpatient clinics. We currently have a permanent vacancy within our general secretarial pool that supports the General Paediatric team within the John Hunter Children's Hospital and Belmont Hospital. This role will see you providing consistent, high quality customer service as a person of first contact including, telephone, email enquiries and personal contact with clients. About The Role The successful candidates will have prior experience within a health care setting and have excellent time management skills alongside their attention to detail and medical terminology vocabulary. The ability to perform Dictaphone typing will be highly regarded as well. You will be joining an existing dedicated administration team of secretarial staff supported by a Clerical Manager. Positions are supported by an existing team and an on-boarding orientation and training plans will be conducted. The successful candidates will participate in the JHCH on boarding and orientation program. A Typical Day Your daily tasks will involve planning and prioritising work activities to ensure efficient and accurate service delivery. You will be required to work with various computer systems, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong listening and questioning skills will be essential in understanding customer needs and providing effective support. Additionally, you will work both independently and collaboratively, adapting to changing priorities while utilising electronic systems and software to achieve quality outcomes.
