The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G)
Service within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist is responsible for the provision of specialist services to
emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients at the relevant Hospital. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will ensure provision of high quality O&G
services to all patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
The Obstetrician And Gynaecologist Will Proactively
* Support the development of O&G services
* Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice
* Support and mentor ITPs, SIMGs, Registrars and JMOs
* Support and develop O&G research within the department
* Support Medical Students during their rotation in O&G

Shoalhaven Hospital, located on Yuin Country, is the main acute care hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical
and orthopaedic services. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on high dependency and coronary patients, Children’s Ward and Maternity
Unit, as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre and sub-acute Mental Health Unit. With a significant redevelopment of the hospital currently

Seeking consultants to join our friendly Obstetric and Gynaecology Department. Situated in the beautiful Shoalhaven Region of the South Coast of N.S.W,
easily accessible within a 2-hour drive of Sydney, Shoalhaven Hospital is nestled within a rural location between mountains and coast.
The department has a mix of gynaecological and obstetric cases with approximately 800 births per year. The unit has a supportive and collegial team
approach to delivering woman cantered care to the local population.

* Current AHPRA Registration and Fellowship with Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG)
* Valid NSW Drivers Licence
Advanced Trainees who are expecting fellowship with RANZCOG within 3-6 months may be considered for this role
