Bluesfest is seeking a highly experienced Finance Officer to join our team immediately with experience in end of month process & reconciliations.Do you wish to work with a truly dynamic award-winning company?Byron Bay Bluesfest is Australia’s most highly awarded festival, held annually for five days over the Easter Long Weekend in the Byron Bay region.Bluesfest is a dynamic group of companies; Bluesfest Byron Bay (4-day festival), Bluesfest Tours, and Bluesfest Presents. We are responsible for engaging international and national artists to perform at Bluesfest Byron Bay as well as promoting the event which reaches an attendance of over 100,000 patrons.The BLUESFEST group is looking for a dynamic Purchasing Officer on a part-time permanent basis. This role can also be offered as a project role for independent contractors.As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless procurement of goods and services needed for the festival's success. Collaborating with various departments, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing vendor relationships to meet the high standards and unique needs of our event.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with festival objectives.Source, negotiate, and establish contracts with suppliers for goods and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.Maintain and manage supplier relationships, addressing any issues that arise.Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing needs in advance of the event.Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information in line with budgets.Collaborate with event coordinators and other departments to meet specific procurement needs.Report to the Executive Chairman and Chief Financial Officer.We are looking for someone who has:A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.Understanding of inventory management practices and budgeting principles.Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the events, entertainment, or hospitality industries.Demonstrated commercial acumen, with a track record of successful supplier management and contract negotiation.Proficiency in relevant procurement software and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).Strong negotiation skills and the ability to make sound purchasing decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle challenges efficiently.A passion for live events and music is a plus!Please note the candidate must have full working rights in Australia, live in the local area (Northern Rivers or Southern GC), and be able to take on the position in a 4–5-day capacity. Ideally, the candidate must be available to work immediately.
