Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or Process Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (e.g. IET EUR Ing PEng) is an asset.
• 6-8 years of experience in the power generation industry, especially Thermosolar.
• Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) power plants.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Interface with senior management to define project scope and present technical recommendations.
• Plan and execute the process design for various power-related projects.
• Lead a multidiscipline team for the development of conceptual design and estimates.
• Create equipment specifications, evaluate vendor bid packages, and participate in equipment purchase negotiations.
• Understand the power plant process and help define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals, safety, reliability, and improvement efforts.
• Provide engineering expertise to optimize process systems and implement cost reduction opportunities.
• Perform design checking and reviews.
• Perform field evaluations and troubleshooting.
Skills:
• Proficient in Matlab/Simulink and exposure to one of the following 1D/3D simulation tools (e.g. GT, STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, etc.).
• Proficient in Process Simulation Packages such as Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, Thermoflex, PRO II.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Exceptional communication skills and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, diverse environment.
• Ability to prioritize actions and work within a diverse team.
• Project management skills and planning and organizing skills.
• Field engineering experience including startup and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of processes including steam systems, compressed air systems, boiler and chiller plants, and power generation.
