Assistant Irrigation Technician - 6 monthsPay: CompetitiveLocation: Darwin/Northern TerritoryEmployment type: Full-TimeJob DescriptionThis role assists in works related to effective installation, management, and maintenance of our client’s controlled irrigation watering systems in order to support the minimisation of irrigation costs.Tasks:Performing irrigation system installation, connection, and testing of irrigation lines.Repairing or replacing sprinklers, broken, leaky, or corroding lines, pipes, and solenoid valves (above and below ground level).Performing minor repair work or replacing irrigation equipment, such as controllers, flow meters, rain sensors, pressure sensors, and communications systems.Installation of a range of irrigation systems controllers, including Telemetric.Wire and power locating services and identification.Operating a range of small tools, plant, and equipment in accordance with manufacturers' and safety standards.Proactively participating in skill development relevant to Councils Telemetric Irrigation control system.Ensuring all irrigation systems maintenance tasks are undertaken in accordance with daily/weekly schedules assigned.Utilising resources and fleet in accordance with the Code of Conduct and relevant procedures or policies.Undertaking duties relevant to City of Darwin operational requirements within the scope of this position such as small project work, cyclone clean-up, and other ad hoc requirements as identified.Communicating and engaging appropriately with community members when out on site in accordance with our Code of Conduct.Position Pre-requisites:Current Drivers Licence and have their own vehicle.Medium Rigid MR Licence is a must.White card.Previous grounds maintenance/grounds person experience.About the companyThe Larrakia, also referred to as ‘Saltwater people', are the traditional owners of the lands and waters in and surrounding Darwin, including Darwin Harbour.
