About the Department: - Busy birthing suite with approx. 3800 births per annum - Wide range of gynae and obstetrics work - Collaborative work environment with an excellent midwifery team - O&G Department medical team is supported by 8 SMOs (Staff Specialists and VMOs), 7 Trainees (4 ITP and 3 UAT), 3 SRMOs and 3 RMOs About the position: This position is primarily based at Wollongong Hospital but may be asked to work at one of the other locations across the ISLHD on occasion where required. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Service within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. This care will be provided for within the scope of practice granted by the Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist is responsible for the provision of specialist services to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will ensure provision of high-quality O&G services to all patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
