Job Title: Chef
We are seeking a skilled and experienced chef to join our kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, including knives, pans, and kitchen scales.
* Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients in a timely manner.
* Cook food to meet customer demands while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
* Delegate tasks to kitchen staff as needed.
* Inform wait staff about daily specials and menu items.
* Ensure appealing plate presentation and maintain high standards of presentation at all times.
* Modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests, such as reducing salt or removing dairy products.
* Check the freshness of food and discard out-of-date items to ensure food safety.
* Experiment with new recipes and suggest innovative ingredients to enhance our menu offerings.
* Comply with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area, staying up-to-date on temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and other food hygiene procedures.
* Assist with the acceptance and storage of deliveries in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements:
1. Proven work experience as a chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
2. Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment, including knives, pans, and kitchen scales.
3. Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking, and pastry techniques, including cooking methods and ingredient pairing.
4. Ability to remain calm under pressure and undertake multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Excellent time management abilities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
6. Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes to stay ahead of culinary trends.
7. Familiarity with sanitation regulations and food safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
8. Culinary school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
