Join Our Transport and Development Team as a Senior Development Engineer (Drainage).

As a Senior Development Engineer (Drainage), you'll play an essential role in assessing and guiding residential, commercial, and industrial developments to meet legislative standards and the Council’s policies and support in the development of the council’s drainage strategic plan and management.
About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer wanting to step into a senior role. The Senior Development Engineer is critical in assessing and managing all types of development proposals, specifically stormwater drainage impacts arising from urban development within the municipality. They ensure compliance with local, state, and national standards and regulations, delivering high-quality engineering outcomes that meet the community’s needs and support sustainable urban growth. The role includes advising on drainage infrastructure, providing expert technical guidance to both internal and external stakeholders and supporting leaders in the implementation of the Council’s drainage strategic plan and management policy development within the development and stormwater drainage space.
About You:

* Bring your qualifications: Professional engineering registration (or eligibility to obtain it within the first 3 months) is required to thrive in this role.
* Collaborate and communicate: Utilise your strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Skills, experience and certificates:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Engineering qualification recognised by the Institution of Engineers Australia, a valid certificate of professional engineering registration as required under the professional engineer's registration 2019 and a current driver's license.
* Demonstrated engineering experience in a relevant field, preferably local government, including development and land subdivision approvals, planning referrals, engineering design, on-site investigations, and project management.
* Ability to effectively communicate complex developments and drainage issues, recommendations, and decisions to leaders and internal/external stakeholders.
* Demonstrated experience in undertaking hydraulics and hydrology, conventional drainage design, and flood mapping/modelling development and computation.
* Sound knowledge of acts, regulations and policies relating to development/subdivision and drainage engineering.
