The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join a federal government taskforce making a significant impact in the healthcare sector.
As an EL1 Compliance and Assurance Specialist, you will take a lead role in developing, implementing, and refining compliance and assurance processes for essential health technologies. This position allows you to work closely with senior leaders, develop critical guidance materials, and establish lasting frameworks that support the availability of safe and effective medical devices for all Australians.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a high-profile reform program dedicated to providing timely access to safe, affordable medicines and devices across Australia. With the chance to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders, this position supports the development of instructional materials and implementation activities to ensure a smooth transition to Business as Usual.
You’ll be engaged on a labour hire contract basis for an initial 6 months with a potential 6-month extension.
The Role
You will across multiple teams to help shaping compliance and assurance capabilities.
This involves:
* Developing instructional materials such as operating procedures, templates, and guidance documents
* Playing a key part in the strategic planning of these resources and guide staff to create meaningful outputs that inform compliance processes
* Establishing collaborative relationships, both internal and external, will be essential as you work to streamline processes and enhance risk assessment measures
* Overseeing APS staff, corporate planning, reporting, and other administrative duties related to the section’s reform activities
The Ideal Person
You’ll have demonstrated experience in developing and managing instructional and compliance materials, with a knack for leading teams in complex, policy-driven environments. You’re a skilled communicator with an eye for detail and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders across diverse sectors. Strong organisational skills are crucial, as is the ability to navigate shifting timelines and priorities effectively.
Experience in compliance, regulation, or risk management, particularly in health-related disciplines within Commonwealth government environment would be highly valued, as would a background in law or public policy. A motivated and proactive approach, paired with the ability to exercise sound judgment and work under limited direction, will ensure your success in this fast-paced role.
To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen. You must also have, or be willing to obtain, a Baseline security clearance.
Salary / Rate
* Hourly rate of $90/hr – $100/hr + 11.5% Super
* 6–month labour hire contract with a possible 6-month extension
* Office location in Woden, ACT with hybrid work arrangements (2 days from home)
* Full-time role
