Design Quality Manager
A fixed-term full-time contract to February 2026, based in Pitt Street, Sydney with flexibility for up to 4 days in the office and 1 day per week working from home.
Play a key role in ensuring design excellence and quality assurance across diverse projects. Gain valuable experience in medium-density building design with opportunities to contribute to aged care and retirement living projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Design Standards Development and Management
* Create, review, and maintain Unitings Design Guidelines to meet client needs, financial targets, and industry standards.
* Work with consultants and suppliers to develop cost-effective, fit-for-purpose design solutions including FF&E specifications.
* Facilitate design meetings, track actions, and manage benchmarking data.
Design Quality Assurance
* Oversee the design review process from concept to construction ensuring compliance with Unitings standards and delivering high-quality outcomes.
* Identify and address design risks ensuring timely resolution to maintain project progress and quality.
* Maintain accurate documentation of design processes and changes.
Education and Innovation
* Educate internal and external stakeholders on Unitings design processes and standards.
* Stay updated on industry trends integrating innovations into our guidelines and processes.
* Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and competitor analysis to inform future guidelines and ensure best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership
* Manage complex stakeholder relationships fostering collaboration to deliver exceptional outcomes.
* Provide training and guidance to teams, consultants, and stakeholders on applying Unitings design principles.
About You
* To thrive in this role, you will bring a degree in Architecture or Property Design Discipline and at least 8 years of post-graduate design experience.
* Expertise in medium-density (Class 2) buildings, accessibility standards, and aged care or retirement living design is preferred.
* Strong project management skills, with experience across the full lifecycle of projects from masterplanning to construction are essential.
* Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities are required.
* A passion for social change and creating spaces that make a difference in peoples lives is necessary.
