Every day, Life Without Barriers provides support and care to children and young people, as we work collaboratively with families, carers, and communities, to ensure they have the environment they deserve to grow. With a focus on ensuring safety and respect, this is an opportunity to make a positive and meaningful difference in these young lives and help pave a brighter future.
About the Role
A new opportunity has become available for a House Manager to work within our Residential Care programs across the Southwest. Reporting into the Operations Manager for the region, the House Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential house. Most importantly, you will ensure that we are creating a safe, culturally appropriate and healing environment for children and young people.
This is a hands-on role with most time spent on-site in the home and 1 day a week in the office. This position is being offered as permanent, full-time position, with access to salary packaging. This role will include some shift work including afternoon shifts and occasionally weekends when required, with penalty rates applied to those shifts.
You will mentor a team of Residential Support Workers in providing purposeful support to young people in residential care, with high and complex needs. You will strive to enhance the lives of young people in a 24/7 residential setting, incorporating a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach within the daily structure and purposeful programming. There is a strong emphasis on leading your team to provide a secure base for our young people within the home, liaising with culturally appropriate services, and providing opportunities for the young people to connect with the culture in which they identify.

* Support staff to apply the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system (TCI) to prevent, de-escalate and respond to crisis incidents involving children and young people.
* Undertake rostering of residential workers ensuring that risks are managed, and staffing levels reflect the needs of children and young people living in the home.
* Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and the exit of children and young people to permanent homes or step-down services.
* Work collaboratively with external stakeholders.
* Ensure the CIRTS database is up to date with all client information.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
