What you'll be doing
: Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is recruiting for an Electrical Tradesperson Level 1 - 4 to join our talented and skilled team. Our successful Electrical Tradesperson will need to hold current trade qualifications as at least an electrician, and will also require to hold a NSW Electrical Contractor licence. The role of Electrical Tradesperson will be a varied role and will need to provide a NBMLHD facility maintenance service in electrical works that enables the NBMLHD facility to perform its core service in medical services to the public, as well as participate in an afterhours on call roster for the service.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed:
1. Current trade qualifications as an electrician with a minimum and hold a current NSW Electrical Contractor licence
2. Demonstrated knowledge of current WHS Act and relevant regulations as well as knowledge of current relevant Australian Standards pertaining to electrical works such as wiring standards AS3000 & AS3003. Must be able to perform all preventative planned maintenance such as emergency & exit light testing, switch board maintenance and generator load testing
3. Demonstrated experience and ability including (but not limited to) installation of electrical and telecommunications infrastructure, equipment testing and repairs and high voltage switching
4. Demonstrated ability to read plans specifications and drawings, estimate cost, time and materials of electrical works
5. Availability to be on an afterhours on call roster and to attend works at after hours when called upon
6. Excellent communication skills and must be able to take oral and written direction from maintenance management and maintain a co-operative working relationship with management, other trades staff and NBMLHD facility staff
7. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
8. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance management systems
