Nurse Manager – Specialist Palliative Care Service

About the role
The Nurse Manager - Specialist Palliative Care Service is a new role to support the expanding District Specialist Palliative Care Service.
The District Specialist Palliative Care Service is a dedicated multidisciplinary team, supporting patients with a life limiting illness. The service provides consultation services across a number of care settings, including hospital, community and residential aged care facilities.
The service includes a team of specialist nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Dietitian and Palliative Care Doctors. This team is supported by Clinical Nurse Consultants and Nurse Educator in Palliative Care.
This is currently a Monday to Friday service with a telephone support service, after hours and on weekends and works closely with other care providers and services to support clients, their families and carers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the District Specialist Palliative Care Service team.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
* Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the team.
Requirements
* Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field or significant experience in palliative care.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
