Duties and Responsibilities Preparing drawings, plans and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry for solar systems according to solar inverter specifications and state regulations, and design battery storage system according to battery specifications and state regulations Assisting with design, layout and install of electrical installations and circuitry for solar panels solar panels, inverters, battery storage systems and electrical components on rooftops or ground-mounted systems, following blueprints and technical drawings. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical and instrumentation equipment such as generators, transformers, switches, control systems, meters, transmitters, and sensors. Examining solar panels for breaks, testing inverters. testing Wi-Fi routers and data connectivity ensuring electronic optimisers are functioning. Fault finding within solar panel installations and battery storage systems - Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot collecting data, performing tests and complex calculations, graphing results, and preparing charts Installation: testing of equipment and systems, following blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer instructions. Connection of all the electronic devices, leaving system ready for the electrician switchboard and grid connection. Testing and commissioning for both AC and DC circuits -assembling, installing, testing, calibrating, modifying and repairing electrical equipment and installations to conform with regulations and safety requirements inspecting finished installation for compliance with specifications and regulations reporting to Electrician or Electrical Engineers Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, calibrations, and equipment performance data. Document procedures, specifications, and equipment configurations for reference and compliance purposes. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing maintenance, repairs, and installations to minimise risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment. Sign, evaluation and fill sheet forms of the Job Safety assessment (JSA) and the safety work methods statements (SWMS). Team Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, Electrical supervisors, and other technicians to plan and execute maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and address operational challenges effectively. Explaining to clients how to understand the renewable energy system, Wi-Fi connectivity and fault lights. Training and Development: Stay updated on electrical and instrumentation technology advancements, techniques, and best practices. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role. Qualifications: Education: Diploma or technical education or certification in Engineering- Electrical or Industrial Mechanical engineering or Electrotechnology, or a related field is preferred. Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in installation or maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting within solar environments is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and instrumentation Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, convey technical information, and document maintenance activities accurately. Adaptability: Ability to work as part of a team in dynamic and fast-paced environments. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and tasks as required. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision in calibration, documentation, and compliance with specifications and standards.
