The Opportunity: We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has an interest in the building industry to join our Northern Tasmania team, to help our clients achieve safe and compliant buildings.
We have a unique opportunity for a permanent full-time Cadet Building Surveyor based in either our Launceston or Devonport offices. Our team comprises a mix of senior staff with many years of experience, as well as graduates and cadets with recent experience completing qualifications and training in building surveying. This depth and breadth of experience means our team is well placed to support and mentor you through your journey to become a building surveyor.
This role will see you: Carry out under supervision regulatory assessments on all types of residential and commercial projects. Assess project documentation for compliance with applicable building legislation, including the Building Act and Regulations, the Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards. Liaise with relevant stakeholders and provide technical assistance to our clients. Assist in the preparation of reports and other communications to clients, building designers and builders. Attend site inspections and design meetings as required. Grow and learn while supported by a team of experienced staff. What you bring: A keen interest in the building industry, in particular building surveying. Ability and motivation to undertake university studies. Demonstrated time management and organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Strong writing skills and ability to communicate with people at all levels. High level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Computer literate. Current driver's license.
