Position: Chef
Location: Regional North Queensland (Mount Isa)
Remuneration: $73,000 to $75,000 + Superannuation per annum commensurate with experience
Buffs Club is an award-winning club with fantastic dining and a comprehensive dine-in menu. The eatery is currently looking for a hardworking and dedicated Chef to join the team.
Duties, Responsibilities and Skills include:
1. Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs, and address food preparation issues with managers or head chef.
2. Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
3. Order food, kitchen supplies, and equipment.
4. Prepare and store food, ensuring stock rotation and control is maintained (freeze and preserve foods).
5. Preparation of meals, ensuring presentation, portion control, and quality are of the highest standard.
6. Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures.
7. Liaise with Head Chef or Managers on Functions or Special requirements.
8. Maintain kitchen equipment and individual tools of the trade.
9. Constantly update knowledge and skills to keep abreast of industry trends.
10. Train and supervise apprentices, trainees, and other kitchen staff.
11. Assist or compile kitchen rosters and staffing reviews.
12. Oversee and maintain the highest standards of hygiene, practice OH&S, and building safety procedures.
13. Attend to customer complaints in a prompt and satisfactory manner.
14. Select and train staff as required and appropriate.
To be considered for the position you must have:
1. 2 - 3 years experience in a similar role.
2. Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery.
