Address purchasing requests: Handle purchasing requests from operations/projects/internal customer groups promptly. Assure that authorisation protocols have been followed and contracts or production agreements have been signed before commencement.
Ensure optimum pricing and terms: Work diligently to secure the best price and terms for goods and services. Make certain that these goods meet quality requirements and specifications and are available at the needed time and place.
Undertake negotiations with providers\: Actively negotiate with selected suppliers to settle on agreed prices, availability, customisation possibilities, delivery schedules, warranties, payment terms, and claims terms.
Maintain system and documentation\: Keep up-to-date records and documentation for each transaction and maintain the procurement system for efficient tracking and accountancy.
About You: The successful candidate will demonstrate:
High levels of business acumen and understanding of commercial practices.
A proven ability to work independently, organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
Advanced knowledge of procurement and inventory control methods and practices.
Experience in contract negotiation and administration.
Exposure to manufacturing/engineering environments and experience in interpreting technical drawings to determine component/material specifications.
Strong communication skills, including effective negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to establish working relationships with people at various levels both internally and externally.
Proficiency in using computers, particularly MS Word, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP)
Previous working experience in safety-critical environments such as rail, automotive, military, defence, or avionics.
