About the role
Our established Canberra Civil team is looking for Civil Construction Engineers with knowledge within the Engineering sector to join us on a permanent basis. This role will support the Canberra office by providing appropriate technical solutions to ensure projects are properly managed and deliverables / outputs meet the agreed goals.
You will have the opportunity to undertake and / or supervise all stages of civil projects including contract management (AS2124, GC21 or similar), development engineering, procurement, design and project management.

Day to day tasks would involve:
* Undertake contract management duties to support senior contract managers.
* Preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction projects including risk assessments to support contingency allowances.
* Preparation of project reports, site meeting records, observations and proceedings
* Ensure meetings are managed and documented with actions assigned.
* Assist with writing requests for physical works tenders and other procurement documents and participating in tender evaluation teams.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships through excellent project performance.
* Ensure project delivery on agreed outputs for budget, on time and to quality standards.
* Provide support and guidance, where required, on various projects including design.
* Undertake technical tender assessments.
* Support specific project includes assisting with planning, budgeting, co-ordination and report writing.
* Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Qualifications
To be successful for this role you'll need:
* Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the engineering, construction or professional services industry preferrable.
* Relevant knowledge of Australian standards and legislation
* Self-motivated and self-directed
* Interest in working on a broad variety of projects
* Driven to innovate and challenge design
* Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers and clients.
* Committed to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
* Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions
