Company Description WestSide Community Lawyers is a not-for-profit legal centre providing legal advice and representation to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community.

We have a practice in Port Adelaide, servicing Adelaide's Western suburbs, as well as a practice in Port Pirie servicing the Mid-North & Outback regions.
We are funded by both the Federal Government of Australia and the Government of South Australia, which enables us to provide legal service free of charge and provide the community with community legal education seminars.
We belong to a network of independent Community Legal Centres across Australia and are fully accredited with our national peak body, Community Legal Centres Australia.

We are seeking an enthusiastic community minded family law practitioner to join our team.

PERSON SPECIFICATION Required Skills The successful candidate should be admitted to practice in South Australia and hold a current unrestricted practicing certificate in South Australia.
You should also be admitted to the High Court of Australia (specific to Family Law) and have full working rights in Australia.
You need to have a current clean South Australian driver's licence as you will be required to travel to our Port Pirie office as well as various regional courts and outreach locations from time to time.
Required Competencies The successful candidates will:
Be trauma-informed and be passionate about helping vulnerable members of the community achieve access to justiceHave a professional and pragmatic approach to the practice of law and representation of clients. Have at least 4 years full-time equivalent post-admission experience working primarily in Family Law parenting and property settlement matters to completion, including experience appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court and in settlement conferences at the Legal Services Commission.Be able to work autonomously and in a team environment.Have excellent time management, organisational and presentation skills.Significant experience in providing legal advice and conducting legal casework for people from socially disadvantaged groups.Experience using a cloud-based practice management software is desired but not essential. Providing legal representation to eligible clients.
The attainment of our KPI targets as determined by our funders in relation to legal advice and representations.
Provide community legal education to the public and other legal related administrative work.
Reporting lines and training Reporting to the Family Law Team Leader and Managing Lawyer.
Training on our specific requirements will be provided as required. We also encourage and provide financial assistance with Continuing Professional Education.
Salary $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 plus Superannuation. The salary range may be negotiable depending on experience and whether the position is offered as a fixed term contract or ongoing.
