About the role: As the system administrator you'll be responsible for the provisioning, installation and configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and related infrastructure. Participating in technical research and development you'll enable the continuing innovation within the technology division, ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related technology procedures adhere to organisational values, enabling staff, clients and partners to utilise our systems and software. A Day in the Life: Whilst there's no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following: Installation of new or existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Installation and configuration of systems to support infrastructure applications or related product applications. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible vulnerabilities. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. Upgrade and configure system software that supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs. About You: You will have demonstrated experience in System Administration. As well as: Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies and Windows operating systems administration (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS Webservers, Terminal Services etc.) Networking knowledge, preferably experience with Cisco Meraki SAN & NAS exposure SQL Server Virtualisation technologies (VMware 5+ESXi) Bachelor's degree or similar, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science Relative systems administration/system engineer certification in AWS, Microsoft and preferably Linux.
