CAD Technician /Designer– Venture Smart (Ventia)
Venture Smart Pty Ltd, a 50/50 joint venture between Ventia and Johnson Controls combines a vast amount of experience and innovation across electrical and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Our role is to provide design, construction and maintenance services for all Main Roads electrical and intelligent Transport System assets on their road network across the state. Assets include street lighting, traffic signals, variable message signs, CCTV, help phones and associated power and communications infrastructure (pit and pipe, fibre communications and switchboards).

We are seeking to employ 2 x CAD Technician / Designer to produce high quality technical drawings from beginning to end using AutoCAD and relevant software packages. These drawings cover electrical and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for both design, construction and as Constructed phases, plus the updating of all classes of Main Roads asset drawings.
In addition, you will deliver a high standard of work in line with company, contractual and legislative & safety procedures prescribed and agreed between Main Roads Western Australia and Venture Smart. Importantly, in this role you will perform other duties, as may be required, to ensure all mandated services are delivered as per the scope of the contract.

5. Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting, Electronic Engineering or equivalent
6. Experience using AutoCAD within a related electrical or ITS environment
7. Skilled in setting up CAD standards, blocks, line types, scripts, etc.
8. Intermediate to advanced AutoCAD user
9. Developed computer skills including MS Office proficiency
10. Preferable experience operating software such as AGi32 & Perfect Lite lighting design suites
11. Technology industry experience in the Transport area
12. Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
