About the role

Calvary Mater Newcastle’s Department of Radiation Oncology is NSW’s largest regional specialist radiation therapy centre. We offer world-class radiation therapy using precision technology to deliver the best available treatment.
The Radiation Oncology Department is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists, Nursing, Allied Health, Clerical and Domestic services personnel, who work together to ensure the best possible care and treatment.
The Radiation Therapists Level 2 will provide high level patient care. The successful applicant must demonstrate competency as measured by the Radiation Therapist Performance Indicators, within the areas of patient treatment, planning, delivery and active participation in workplace in-services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Experience with ARIA patient management computer systems.
2. Knowledge of current techniques, technology and trends in Radiation Oncology.
3. Competent in the use and application of simulation, planning and treatment equipment and procedures.

4. Experience in all aspects of radiation therapy.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
7. Demonstrated commitment to customer service, patient safety and quality improvement.
8. Demonstrated problem solving ability, including excellent time and task management skills.
9. Hold a Tertiary qualification, AHPRA registration and EPA licence necessary to practice Radiation Therapy in NSW.
The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement. Leave types may include but not limited to Long Service Leave, Annual Leave and Sick Leave. Applicants are encouraged to discuss this with the Convenor for further information.
