This modern, state of the art terminal was built to expand the region’s coal export capacity, becoming operational in 2016. WICET is a $4 billion investment which operates with a high degree of automation and is committed to operating in a safe, environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.We are currently seeking a Commercial Officer to be based in Gladstone. The primary objective of this role is to provide end to end procurement, contract and contract management activities across goods and services categories, facilitating a high level of customer service in support of WICET operations.You will report to the Commercial Lead, who leads a team of diverse commercial officers accountable for all supply chain activities.Accountabilities:Taking accountability for health, safety and environmental outcomes.Operating in accordance with WICET’s policies, standards and procedures.Complying with the Company’s values and behaviours and lead by example.Providing input to the development and execution of the commercial business plan.Establishing, executing, and maintaining annual sourcing plan for goods and service contracts.Providing guidance and assistance with the preparation of work scopes / specifications and tender packages.Leading the analysis and evaluation of tenders and quotations in alignment with internal stakeholders.Negotiating contract terms and conditions within WICET legal governance frameworks and prepare supply contract recommendations.Awarding contracts and leading the effective on-boarding of contracted service providers and suppliers.Processing of purchase orders associated with contracts.Administering contracts, monitoring suppliers’ performance and formalising performance outcomes.Developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, service providers and internal stakeholders.Providing advice and support to the business in relation to commercial matters and relevant Legislative requirements.Identifying value-adding opportunities that contribute to continuous improvement business outcomes.Working collaboratively with all teams across the site.Performing other duties as required.About You:Degree in business / supply chain management / procurement or similar (desirable).Minimum of 5 years procurement / contract / contract management experience in a similar work environment.Knowledge of legislation including workplace health and safety, chain of responsibility and modern slavery etc.Proficient in the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly Oracle JDE.Advanced skills in MS Office suite.Strong written skills, with the ability to write comprehensive documentation.WICET is an equal opportunity employer and aims to recruit a diverse workforce to help us achieve our goals.
